PUBLIC WORKSHOPS

2020

Through AS220 Industries I had the opportunity to design and implement a variety of public activities and workshops to showcase the resources and equipment our organization offered. These usually took the form of small workshops of 3-8 people that covered a general topic (such as soldering/electronics, 3D printing, and woodworking), or quick singular activities as part of a larger city-wide arts event. Mask-making was one of our most popular activities, and was made all the more exciting with my introduction of 3D printed facial features.

3D POSTER

For Foo Fest 2018 we could not source the mask material in time, however we had a thinner black material that was suitable for the thermoformer. Working with the Artist in Residence, Keri King, we designed a poster moldform out of toy parts, and used that as the basis for an illustration that was then screen-printed onto flocked styrene. Participants then colored the poster before it was molded on the thermoformer. Overall, this was far more entertaining than the masks of previous years.
